Campaign Cabinet Excited about Early Responses
“We’re off to a great start!” claim campaign co-chairs Joe and Kathleen Monti.
Our children and young women have so much to be grateful for when we measure the generous response of the initial donors to our capital campaign effort.
The initial pledges of $394,933 represent the largest amount of money ever raised by either school.
This campaign is vitally important to both schools. It will represent the most concentrated effort to bring together all constituents for the schools and the community.
Our hope is that this campaign will foster a sense of shared mission and vision that will advance the schools’ abilities to maintain and enhance the quality of the educational facilities and programs our students deserve.
But it will take every one of us to make it a reality. Our goal is to generate about $1.7 million in support for the expansion of Bay Catholic Elementary School and Our Lady Academy. That means we will all have to find a way to be as generous as possible.
We are continuing to solicit gifts from selected individuals, businesses, corporations, foundations, and other interested people and organizations. In addition, we are securing matching funds from many employers who will match our
parent and alumni gifts. Our goal is to complete all initial contacts this year.
During October, about 50 parent volunteers from BCE and OLA contacted their fellow families and delivered a campaign pledge packet. We are seeking 100% participation from all current school families.
This campaign is not about just buildings - it is about our children and their future. Others before us have made these schools possible. Now it is our turn.
We are asking all families to return their pledge forms to the school office or in the mail by Thanksgiving. We plan to contact all families who have not responded the next week.
Your Early Response Is Important
We appreciate your early response to our campaign. You will receive a call from a volunteer if we have not received your pledge form.
This campaign is too important to rely on the mail. Our volunteers have pledged to contact each family personally and discuss the campaign with them. Their call will schedule the best time to deliver that packet personally and share the exciting plans for our two schools and our children.
Building Plans Reflect Input
The Building Committee has . incorporated your input into plans for the two campus expansions.
•	At Bay Catholic, look for 6 new classrooms, a science lab, a computer lab, all contained in a two story extension.
•	At Our Lady Academy, a multipurpose building housing 3 new classrooms, 2 science labs, a computer lab, a gymnasium and a commons area are planned.
•	Both these plans are available for your review. We know you will be excited.
Again, please give your full consideration to a pledge to our campaign. We look forward to continuing the 150 year old tradition of Catholic education here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Thank you, in advance, for your time and your willingness to help our community by helping provide a quality education for our children. Please know that all of us with the campaign appreciate your time, your thoughts, your prayers, and your continued support.
