The artillery section of Andrew Jackson’s army marched to Pearlington where every boat was commandeered to furnish transportation to New Orleans. With the assistance of Pearlington residents, Jackson’s army used little known waterways to transport Jackson’s artillery to the Battle of New Orleans.

"This plot and diagram of the Town of Pearlington in Hancock County State of Mississippi was made by Elihu Carver in accordance with the resolution of the Pearlington Company made and ??? at their meeting of 24th of November 1819, the 16th of October 1823, 24th December 1823, and 14th day of February, 1825."

The Pearlington Company received incorporation for the purpose of "laying out the town of Pearlington", January, 1820.
1822 PEARLINGTON RECEIVES CHARTER
During the 6th session of the Mississippi Legislature, in December 1822, the city of Pearlington received incorporation papers.
