The home was built eleven years ago by Dr. and Mrs. Edgar Dapremont. It is marked by interesting textures and rich hues. The foyer has a faux finish of gold and umber. The warm golden yellow on the dining room walls is accented with plum lamp shades as well as the window treatments. The large oriental rug also complements the walls and window treatments.
The kitchen, hall, and living area are soothing variations of a mossy green. Brick floors and black granite counter tops in the spacious kitchen and breakfast room are truly the heart of this inviting home. The walk-through wet bar between the breakfast area and the living area make the perfect transition with its French doors that lead to the welcoming brick patio. The living area has elegant oriental rugs to soften the highly polished antique heart of pine floor. Displayed above the mantle in the living room is a hand painted lithograph of a Louisiana purple heron.
Dr. Dapremont’s study is a blend of function and elegance, while the master bedroom and bath offer warmth and relaxation. The spacious bedroom gives way to the large bathroom with its old brick floors and its stained glass windows above the Jacuzzi tub.

The Graham Rape House was built by Dr. Rape in 1884. At his death, Dr. Rape left the home to his wife, a local school teacher who took in boarders to help with the expenses of raising their children. Her son, Graham Rape, eventually moved in to take care of his mother. At Graham’s death the house was deeded to the First Baptist Church of Moss Point.
Pasco Realty purchased the home in 2001. It was then renovated by Kathy Goodwin for her mother and step-father, Evie and William Hosking, who now reside in this beautiful turn of the century home. This was Kathy’s second home to completely renovate on Moss Point’s historic Dantzler Avenue.
There are many points of interest in this lovely home such as: a music room, large verandas and porches, original mantle dating to 1884, tongue and groove paneling in the den, fireplaces and hardwood floors throughout, and many items collected during the Hosking’s travels.
