August 5, 1954 Feast of Our Lady of the Snow
Very Rev. John E. Taylor, O. M. I.
Rector, Our Lady of the Snows Scholasticate Pine Hills
Pass Christian, Mississippi Dear Father Taylor:
It is with a sense of deep-hearted joy that I express my congratulations, along with others, on the occasion of the dedication of the Oblate Fathers' Scholasticate at Pine Hills.
We of the Diocese are justifiably proud of the fact that the oncc-famous hotel has been given over to religious purposes. Humanly speaking, it seemed a shame that such an imposing structure should lie idle and be given over to the elements. But behind it all, wc see the guiding hand of Providence at play, and what once started out as a hotel has now become a first-class seminary whose facilities are on a par with anything of its kind n the country.
This event will certainly go down as an achievement in the history of the Diocese of Natchez and I feel that I cannot let this day pass without extending my warmest congratulations and the assurance that I will ask the Divine Giver of gifts, Who has been so generous in your regard, to continue to bless the work of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
Sincerely yours in Christy_______
Most Reverend R. O. Gcrow Bishop of Natchez
