We believe that the Pine Hills Hotel should not only be used for the tourist and the local resident, but should also be used for educational purposes.
We would work with universities in Mississippi and in Georgia in offering their students internships in their Hotel Restaurant, Travel and Management Programs. These students would be paid during their internship and would intern in divisions such as Sales and Marketing, Rooms, Food and Beverage and Banquet and Conferences.
If the Pine Hills Hotel is owned by the State of Mississippi the hotel complex should serve as an educational tool for the citizens of Mississippi.
The Pine Hills Hotel would promote education packages for these citizens that would relate to various fields of education, such as garden clubs, landscape architecture, childrens theater and craft workshops, theater, dance and music workshops, church conference workshops, architecture and engineering workshops, writers' workshops, medical conferences. The strongest periods of demand from the group meeting guest segment would be during the social and shoulder seasons. The winter months would attract some business, foreign tour and travel groups.
Our hotel operating philosophy would provide continental style and service of the hotel including concierge service responsible for registration, room keys, personal requests, afternoon tea, nightly turndown service, continental breakfast delivered to the room daily, and newspaper delivered to the room each morning. The operating philosophy will be to operate the finest hotel in a given market by offering an unusually high level of personalized guest services, luxurious surroundings and the finest food and beverage facilities which attract strong local patronage as well as hotel guests. We will provide the State of Mississippi the expertise in hotel management that will be necessary to transform the Pine Hills Hotel into a complete year-round destination resort.
Our efforts would include complete design, construction, advertising, marketing and public relations. Historic preservation and hotel management expertise would be our top priority. We feel that our methods in developing increased tourism will be an important factor in the success of this project. Through our market orientation we can broaden the market to include the more affluent guest as well as the middle income traveler. Special attention and consideration would be given to Senior Citizens and vacationing families.
