Bay library named literary landmark in honor of Ambrose

Many city and county (fficials and friends and amily of the late Stephen
D.	Ambrose turned out for a ipecial ceremony at the Bay 3t. Louis Library on ruesday.
The library was designat-:d as a national literary andmark in honor of the amed historian who used he library to research for lis book "Nothing Like It In -he World: The Men Who
Built the Transcontinental Railroad, 1863-1869."
The Bay St. Louis branch is now one of approximately 60 sites in the nation to receive this honor from the Friends of Libraries USA.
Ambrose?s wife, Moira, helped unveil the bronze plaque which designated the library as a landmark.
As a friend of Ambrose, historian Douglas Brinkley spoke of Ambrose?s career and his contribution to the world.
