Steve Bierhorst to seek council post
(Continued from page I) doing. I meet a lot of people and get a chance to talk to them about the different issues concerning the town.
?Of course, everyone is concerned about the major issues such as streets, drainage, sewage, recreation, cooperation between the Police Department and the Town Council and many other pressing issues. If elected, I will work with all other elected officials to help solve these things.
?Working with the telephone company in this area has advantages for
me. My work keeps me around town all day and I cannot help but see the conditions that exist in the community.
?I can not help but believe that with a little help and cooperation from both the citizens and our local government, the town of Patterson could be the cleanest, most attractive, and efficiently run town in St. Mary Parish.
?I also serve my community as a member of the Patterson Planning Commission appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. As a member I
have gained valuable experience and a good working knowledge of Patterson?s zoning laws and the governing ordinances of the town.
?I have been a member of the Patterson Volunteer Fire Department for eight years, four of which I have had the honor of being Fire Chief. Being in the Fire Department and working in
conjunction with the Police Department as I do, I can see a lot of areas in these two departments that I would like to work toward upgrading.?
