3.	The list of Cemetary's a Mitchell cemetary is listed but not indexed
yet...will that be anytime soon?
4.	(and final..I think) Pre-civil war land records, are they available. The
Obit mentioned above also says that Alexander's family owned the whole tact of land named Bookter Avenue and given to the city as a thoroughfare
by him.........it would be wonderful to maybe find a picture of their
home.
You have been most kind and helpful......thank you in advance with your
patience with me.

Dear Ms. Simmons,
I have been able to find only a small amount of information on Alexander and Emma Bookter. Part of it is contained in the cemetery records on our website, hancockcountyhistoricalsociety.com.
Alexander Bookter (9/5/1807--7/2/1879) was married to Elizabeth Bookter (5/24/1796?7/31/1852). He later married Emma Bookter (1834?1914). These dates come from their tombstones in Cedar Rest Cemetery.
Concerning Bookter Street...in fact it was named for these Bookters. In the 1880 census Bookter Street was one of only eight street names included. It had only recently been donated to the city by a Miss Bookter. I am not sure who this "Miss Bookter" was, but there is a strong likelihood that she could be Frannie Bookter Wickes (1858?1930) and could be the daughter of Alexander and Emma Bookter. Frannie is buried next to Alexander, Elizabeth, and Emma. Frannie Bookter Wickes was married to William Jessie Weir (1855?5/08/1934).
I hope this information is beneficial, and I'm sorry we don't have any more.
Sincerely,
Eddie Coleman
