Then he called his parents and his father answered. Fred told him he was getting married and then asked to speak to his mother. He said he wanted her to plan his wedding. There was silence, then she burst in tears, then said she trusted him fully and it would be an event to be proud of.
Fred and Kim agreed they would be married in a traditional Chinese ceremony, then get married again when they returned to America. After the ceremony he kissed her tenderly and it suddenly dawned on him that was the first time they had kissed.
After a brief reception they returned to the hotel for a brief honeymoon. It was like heaven. Later they all flew to the US together. Fred?s mother and father came over later to meet Kim and talk about the wedding. His mother asked if she could have two months to work out all the deails. Kim said that would be great because she had so much to learn.
The weeks flew by and the wedding was set for a Saturday afternoon, the rehearsal and dinner for the night before and a bachelor party on Tuesday. Kim asked about the bachelor party and said that was disgusting.
When Tuesday arrived all the men left, Mama and Chandra went to bed, leaving Kim alone. She started reading a book but began to worry and wondered if everything was ok. About midnight she heard a car in the driveway. When she looked out she saw the lights from the car, then another and still another.
