My name is Elihu Carver. The first Carver in American was Deacon John Carver who arrived from England on the Mayflower in 1$20, blit John Carver had no heirs. Descendants of his brother, Robert Carver of Yorkshire, England, perpetuated the family name in America.
I am a sixth generation descendant from Robert Carver. I was bom in Canterbury, Connecticut in 1774. I fought ijHfie war of 1812 and was appointed Assessor and Tax Collector in 1*816 and becamethe official surveyor for Hancock County. I purchased 45fTacres on Cedar Point where I lived and I continued surveying and remained active until my death ini855.
