His death date Note
Elihu, Jr's death is found in the interment records of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS as January 16, 1874 ( Bk. 1, page 83). In the Hancock County, MS Chancery Court file, # 104, Elihu, Jr.’s probate is opened on April 30, 1874 and the record states he died "in the month of March 1874." In the Hancock County Chancery Court, Case #614, dated July 20, 1896 Elihu Carver, Jr. is listed as died on February 26, 1874. This law suite was filed 26 years after Elihu, Jr.’s death and could be in error. Because the Church death record was recorded at the time of his death, I will use that date until more information is available.
