Mrs. Muller, gave a card and donkey party on Tuesday evening in honor of her guests. The interior of the house was nicely decorated for the occasion. The donkey party was a main feature of the evening's enjoyment. Miss Ametia Straut won the first price and Mr. Harry S. Saucier secured the booby prize. Those who participated were Mrs. William A. Scholl, Miss Gertie Weiss, Miss Mayme Johnson, the Misses Belden, Miss O'Hara, Miss Amelia Straut, Messrs, Harry S. Saucier, P. Combel, R. Caldwell, J. B. Clark, C. Dom, and others. Dancing old style reels, etc., created much amusement. (SCE 8/19/1893)
Dom, Mrs. L. and son - It was the editor's good fortune to spend last Monday at the farm home of Mrs. L. Dom and son at Grand Plain, near Claiborne Station. This is one of the finiest and largest truck farms in the country, comprising 1000 acres. On the famr are 800 pecan trees not far from bearing and in a few years this pecan land will be a snug fortune for its owner. Most of the work attended to on the farm is the hay making industry from shich a good revenue is received. Mrs. Dom has just had completed a spacious hay bam 25x60, which is now nearly full and more to cut. A hay presser and bailer will soon erected on the farm and hay will be shipped to all points. There are about 50 head of fine stock on the place. To Mrs. Dom and to her son and nephews many thanks are return for such a hospitable reception and pleasant day. (SCE 9/30/1893)
Dom, Mrs. L. and her estimable son, Mr. Christian Dom, gave a New Year dance at their hospitable home at Grand Plain, Claibom Station, for their many friends in this part of the country. A fine and full string band was in attendance and furnished excellent music for the occasion. An abundant spread of substantial and delicacies was served, and n all the affair was throughly enjoyed by the large number of guests present, and this New Year on the farm will long be remembered.(SCE 1/6/1894)
Dom, Gertrude; Bonacker, John; Frances Dishara; Ruth Schwall, Sawina Mitchell, Gertrude Dom and Louise Davis were on the sick list last month. (The High School Idea, Vol. 1, Bay St.Louis, March 1908,2nd and 3rd grades.[l]
