Bay St. Louis Municipal Band
The Bay St. Louis Municipal Band was very active during the 1920?s and 1930?s. This photo was taken in front of the Bay City Hall in the 1930?s and was donated to the Hancock County Historical Society by Shirley Miller Tarzetti, Kiln, Miss. Mrs. Tarzetti also donated the silver trombone, case and hat along with a portrait photo of the late Peter Faucetta. Those in photo front row, from left are, Bay St. Louis Mayor

Faucetta, Clarence Schindler, John Benigno, C.J. Gordon and Fred Herlihy. Jenny diBenedetto Roland of New Orleans helped identify band members in photo. She reported one of the highlights for the band was to perform in a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade after receivng and an invitation. Bay resident Charles Sci-anna, brother of the Faucettas, said band members were volunteers and had to purchase their own uniforms and instruments. Scianna also said that Gasper Maurigi was an accomplished musician and for many years was a band leader on boat excursions between New Orleans and Mobile. The trombone, case, hat and ; photo of the late Peter Faucetti of Bay St. Louis has been do nated to the Hancock Count1 Historical Society by Shirlei Miller Tarzette, a niece by mar riage of Faucetta. He was ? member of the Bay St. Louii Municipal Band in the 1920?i and 1930?s.
