written, and I cannot be sure of the numbers. Keep in mind, she was not living in Hancock County when her father died, and were probably not close to Simon's other white children, thus the obvious error in his death date. Since then I have found his true death date. It was recorded in an old French newspaper in New Orleans, LA, called L'AMI DES LOIS, or Friend of the Law, page 2, column 1. The obit was published on July 20, 1813, and said he died on "July 3, 1813, in Mobile, Alabama." See record scanned into the Memories section of his page.

Rosalie "Rebecca" Austin (LTFT-HF4) (1764-Deceased): Notes__________________________________________________________
Title: Her name
Most records we have on her, she is called "Rebecca," except on the baptism of her only child, by Isaac Graves, where she is called "Rosalia Ostein,” and a slave deed dated February 20, 1810, in New Orleans where "Rosalie Auston" sells 2 slaves to Jean Blanche. The following May 1, 1811, Jean Blanche is Executor for the estate of "Rosalie Rebeca Auston." It appears that she most often went by her middle name, Rebecca. This information is found in the 2012 research paper by Russell Guerin, at the Hancock County Historical Library in Bay St. Louis titled "Simon Favre, Jr." There are many versions of the spelling of her last name as I have listed in the "Other Information" section above. For the sake if simplicity, i think we should use the "Austin" spelling, which is probably correct anyway.
