The following "settlement of estate" by the heirs of Alexis FAYARD appoints an agent to see to the sale of all property ?at public outcry to the highest bidder for cash."
Know all that we, Sylvester Fayard, Louis Fayard, Mary Foretich, Octavia Latimer,
Armine Krautter, Caroline Thomas, direct heirs of Alexis Fayard and Mary Groue, Wm. Parker, James Parker, Emily Parker, Ursin Parker,
Cecilia Stewart, Matilda Armstrong, Lavinia Moran, heirs of Mrs. James Parker deceased, who was an heir direct of the said Alexis Fayard deceased, do hereby appoint and constitute Antonio Foretich in all matters pertaining to the winding up of the Estate of the late Alexis Fayard and more particularly is he, Antonio Foretich, empowered to lawfully advertise for sale and to sell and convey, all and singular, the lands belonging to the Estate of Alexis Fayard deceased, in which we are interested as heirs and distributees, and the said Antonio Foretich, is fully authorized to make and deliver unto each and every purchaser of the lands belonging to the Estate of Alexis Fayard deceased, deeds in all legal forms and the said Antonio Foretich is authorized to sell at public outcry to the highest bidder for cash, at such time and place as he may deem best and most expedient, the lands belonging to the Estate of Alexis Fayard deceased, which lands are more particularly described as follows:
Twenty-one (21) acres more or less in Section Eleven (11) Township (7) Seven, Range (10) Ten West.
This tract contains house and improvements. Forty acres (40) more or less in Section Ten (10) Township (7) Seven. Range Ten (10) West. One hundred and sixty (160) more or less in Section (3) Three, Township (7) Seven, Range (10)
Ten West. All being situated in the County of Harrison, State of Mississippi.
In testimony whereof, we have this 2nd day of July in year of our Lord 1888 affixed our hands and seals.

Most of the family of Alexis and Martha lived not for from their paternal home. Martha would outlive Alexis by many years, dying at the age of 108 and one-half years.
Rose Cecile, who is in the chain of direct line was born in 1817. The extract from the Mobile Cathedral follows. (BB2, p. 152.)
On September 17, 1818, I, Don Vincente Genen, parish priest of Our Lady of the Conception of Mobile, baptized and gave the Holy Oils to a girl born on October 29, 1817, the legitimate daughter of Alexis Fallard and Martha Rain. Paternal grandparents are Louis Fallard and Martha Gargaret; maternal, Santiago Rain and Morie Gargaret. During the holy ceremonies the child was given the name Rose Cecile. Godparents are Jose Garcia and Rosa Gres (?), who were advised of their spiritual parentage. Isign.

On July 18, 1837, Rose Cecile FAYARD was married to James Parker of Baltimore, Maryland. How they became acquainted is not known, but this couple were the parents of seven children: James, Matilda, Mary, Lavinia, William, Rose Cecile and Ursin. James married Elizabeth Craven on February 25, 1876; Matilda married George Armstrong on March 11, 1878; Mary Martha married Louis Groue on May 8, 1860; Lavinia married John Baptist Moran on February 6, 1867; William married Emma Cuevas on April 8, 1880; Rose Cecile married William Stewart on April 27, 1877; and Ursin married Ada Nelson on March 4, 1904.
Marie Martha, as seen above, married Louis Groue of Back Bay. She was born at the old homestead on Parker Creek on April 22, 1841.
In order for her to be baptized, the parents took her to Biloxi fifteen months later, at which time the account of the baptism was recorded in the church register.
On July 22, 1842, was baptized Marie Martha, born on April 22, 1841, the daughter of James Parker and Rose Cecile Fayard. Godparents are Etienne Lafdure and Delarie Fayard (aunt).
