reads “Mary Caroline Andrews, bom July 31, 1858, and died on January 27, 1936.” She has a unique headstone that is covered with “petrified wood” that has been cemented to it. Thanks to Loma Schindler, we have a copy of her Louisiana Death Certificate. It gives her name as “Mary Caroline (Green) Andrews” and says she was bom in “Amite, La. on July 31, 1858.”
It also says that she died on “Jan. 27, 1936, in Slidell, La.” Listed were her parents, “Long Green and (first name not given) Cameron,” and her husband, Charles Andrews. Her niece, Mary E. “Ling” Green Riggs gave us Caroline’s four husbands and her children. We also went to Slidell and interviewed Caroline’s granddaughter, Eloise Henderson (Mrs. Otis Allred) in 1973.
They told us the following information:
Mary Caroline, or Caroline Green as she was most often called, married four times. The first was Henry Hines Krankey (also spelled Kranky, Krankie, Krencker, Krenke, etc.). They married on April 17,
1876, and the record is located at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. This couple shows up in the 1880 census of Hancock County where he is age 26 and she is age 20. They had one daughter that year, called Mary Krankey, who was age two. Mrs. Allred said this was their only child, and she gave us much of the following information that we have added to our research.
A.	Mary Victoria Krankey - she was bom on July 9, 1877, as found on her OLG Church baptism record. She first married D. B. Robbins in Hancock County, MS, on November 22, 1891. She next married Robert Louis Scott on July 24, 1894, as found in the Hancock County marriage records. The record shows her name as “Mary V. Robbins.” Mary lived in Ardmore, OK, and died there on April 2, 1956, with a headstone in Rose Hill cemetery. She had:
1. William L. “Willie” Scott — he married first to Eva M. Roberts
and later to Gladys N. Hughes. He lived in Ardmore, OK.
2.	Lena Mar Scott - she married Andy J. Powers and lived in Borger, TX.
3.	G. Joseph Scott - he married Ruth L. Reed and lived in Norman, OK.
4.	Georgia E. Scott - she was bom in 1904, and died in Ardmore,
OK, in 1924.
5.	Edna Scott - she was bom in 1905, and married (first name forgotten) Thompson. She lived in Morgan, OK, and Ardmore, OK.
The above Henry Hines Krankey was bom on December 15, 1850, according to his baptism record at OLG Church. The date is poorly written and his parents listed were “Hines Krencker and Victorie LaFontaine.” Other records show Victorie as “Elizabeth” or “Eliza” LaFontaine. Her full name was probably “Elizabeth Victorie LaFontaine.” The known children bom to Hines Krankey and Victorie LaFontaine were:
22
