high and so green they almost looked black, it was beautiful sight. Katy has married since Rufas died, married one of her old lover's. Jackie has a lovely wife and family and lives in Orange Grove, Gulfport, Miss. Lonnie and his family live in Leetown just above his mothers place aways. And Tony and his family live about seven miles from his mothers. Katy and Rufas had two more boys after the left Napoleon. They are big business men, traveling from place to place. They are all smart, fine young men. All married and have families. Well there are many other good things I could tell about them but won't go though that now. Only I will say Katy has cancer and is taking cobalt treatments. She's a brave woman.
Going back to my girlhood days, it makes me sad to think how Nasa came in and took our old homes away from us and everyone in Napoleon, Gainesville, Logtown and many other places had to move out and either move their houses or build a new one. We had ours moved and redone. It cost thousands of dollars to have it moved and rebuilt or redone. Then just a short time before he passed away he sold our oldest daughter Della the place for ($12000) twelve thousand dollars, so then J.R. (Julian) Della's husband, a Baptist minister and one of the finest men that ever lived in every respect, died just three years after Willie. So Della came to live with me and has taken over all the responsibility of house, me and all. She has her hands full. We have some of the sweetest neighbors any one could have. Their always bringing us some kind of vegetables, cake or something good. We have some one dropping in for a cup of coffee and a little chat every day mostly. Some days that's all day long but we both enjoy it. When I came back from the hospital after being there a month and a half, I had company from early morning till some times nine o'clock at night. Some from Petal, Miss., Hattiesburg, New Orleans, Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, Gulfport and two friends of Della's & mine from California who were coming to N.O. on some business so they came on to Pearlington to see us. Vivian Foster and her sister. They are refined people. Vivian is the one who got all the information on my family (Daniels) and my father in law and mother in law Joseph Hover. She made several trips to the archives hunting the history of them. And I'm so proud of it. I wouldn't take any thing for leaving it. 'Thanks" to Vivian. She called a little while ago and said she was coming to Biloxi the 27th of April so she'd try to come by to see us. She and her sister are both real sweet people. They
