I went up to the mill on last tuesday and as I could not get any [illeg] plank I ordered some pine to be sawed by satuday it was green timber but it was the best I could do. I then went up on Saturday with three of the men and had it [rafted] and brought down it is very pretty looking plank. I got 2,175 ft. I ordered 2,000 and in sawing that the 175 ft was over so I took it the plank are 12 inches broad one thick and 25 ft long which was 59 plank I had to give $12, a thousand. I got it on creadit. I write this I know P would like to know about it and I know he will read the letter.
I will commence the scaffold to morrow, and have every thing ready for picking at the end of the week, we have had some open for some time very small boles. I will enclose a little frome little inferior boles. You seem to think I am in a most horriable place. I am living as well as I could wish. And as to health I never had better health in my life, my dinner and supper are the same as my breakfatst. You speak of the roaches Ants And spiders. the roaches are not trublesome there are a few in the little closets, And at night they are some times seen on the wall and table but they wont hurt any thing. the ants are very trublesome they get into every thing, in the bed, they some times run me out of bed
