He was a nativo of Lorien, of tho de-nni tment of Morbi.v.i, Franco, whcrs he first Paw light on January G, 1830, being S2 years of age at the time of his death. Ho left his nativo land, la Belle France, when but 17 years of age. goon after locating where his lato home now stands, lie engaged in the saw-ruill business, which he carried on successfully for over K) years, when his advancing age and chango in local conditions caused him to abandon tho pursuit.
