For the past ten years Coach Ladner has also directed a very successful basketball coaching seminar on the USM campus; a seminar that has grown to be one of the largest of its kind in the South. Also, for many years he had directed the University of Southern Mississippi "Golden Eagle" basketball camp, which was held for two sessions during the summer months and which had 300 plus participants of junior and senior high school level players.
Coach Ladner's foreign contacts are many and he most recently traveled to Maracaibo, Venezuela (Summer, 1980) to conduct a two week basketball clinic sponsored by the National Institute of Sport and the University of Zulia. He was the first American representative to coach and conduct basketball seminars and clinics in Venezuela.
The veteran coach has had numerous articles published covering nearly every aspect of the game of basketball. Some of his articles have included "Baseline Offense", "Professional Preparation and Certification of Coaches", "An Effective Method in Defeating the Zone Press", "Fundamentals of Shooting Free Throws", and "Athletics: An Integral Aspect of Education".
These articles have appeared in several professional journals and basketball publications. He has authored a book entitled, "The Winning Basket" which is now under contract negotiations with a national publisher.
