information on these children that was not available through church or civil records. Without the information received from this source, I would never have known many of them left the area and resettled in Florida where they married and had children.
It is also important to remember in this family of GARCIA, descended of the marriage of a daughter of Juan de Cuevas and Marie Helene Ladner (3. Nicholas Ladner dit Christian and Marianne Paquet) and Gines Garcia, there was a son named MANUEL among their children in addition to this JOSEPH GARCIA, husband of 2AE1. Joanna "Jeanette" Carco. I make this particular point to let the readers know, that this present JOSEPH GARCIA, for some unknown reason, was also infrequently known as JOSEPH "MANUEL" GARCIA and that he had a son, which we will soon note, was named MANUEL GARCIA. In some records, this MANUEL son of JOSEPH GARCIA was infrequently referred to as MANUEL, JR. to distinguish him from his uncle MANUEL GARCIA. To make a nightmare for researchers, MANUEL GARCIA, SR., the uncle, also had a son named MANUEL and known in many records as MANUEL GARCIA, JR. and correctly so. Take care in the research of the GARCIA line, but I will clear this all up in the next generation descendants of 3. Nicholas Ladner dit Christian and Marianne Paquet.
2AE1A. JOSEPH "ZAZA" GARCIA, born February 20, 1857, was baptised June 23, 1857 (OLG BB 1 p 54 A 385). From oral history of descendants, he was first married to MAGNOLIA SEAL and second married to JOSEPHINE ? from Florida. He moved to Ellenton, Florida with his second wife and died and is buried at Ellenton, Florida. There were two known children in this family and possibly a third child.
2AE1B. VICTOIRE GABELLE "VIC" GARCIA, born November 20, 1858, was baptised March 27, 1859 (OLG BB 1 p 66 A 486). Her marriage record is:
HANCO MB A "JOSEPH YARBOROUGH married 12/8/1873 VICTORIA GARCIA"
He was known as "Jeff" Yarborough; they had a family of 14 children; resided at Lakeshore, Mississippi where they are buried in Lakeshore Cemetery. 2AE1C. VICTOR "HENRY" GARCIA, born January 3, 1861, was baptised August 28, 1861 (OLG BB 1 p 89 A 622). His marriage record is:
HANCO MB A "HENRY GARCIA married 12/5/1882 ELEONORA YARBER"
She was generally known as "Nora" and is buried in Cedar Rest Cemetery with headstone "NORA 1861-1950". He is buried in Pearlington Cemetery with a headstone. There were nine children born to this family as reported by their
