Mary Louise Ladner (Carlos Ladner) horn Sept. 30, 1836, Hancock Co. ms married William L. Havens Dec. 29, 1859. William's date of birth, April 18, 1837. When the civil war was started William joined the Army. He served with Co. H. 15th Ala. Calvary. After the war ended they were faced with many hardships. He and Mary moved to Singer, IA, there they reared their family. Mary died Sept. 4, 18^9, William also died June 17, 1931. They were buried in the Havens Cemetery. Many of their descendants are now living in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Arkansas.
