were bom in NC. He is also listed in the 1870 census of Scott Co. with wife and children.
It is through this person that we can make the tie through his father, and other siblings of his father, to Solomon and Ann Lott. On June 26, 1860 in a deed recorded in Madison Co., MS, Book “O”, p. 777, Elisha Lott (his uncle) gifted by deed 84 acres in Rankin Co. (near the Fanning, MS community) to “his nephew, Solomon J. Lott”. In the Will of Elisha Lott, dated July 7, 1860 in Madison Co., MS, Elisha wills to “my nephew”, Sol J. Lott, the eighth of land on which he now resides.. .”. In a contract dated March 15, 1876 and filed in Scott Co., MS, Vol. G p. 180 “Solomon B. Lott and Solomon Joiner Lott of Scott, Co.” sell their cotton crop to John P. Harris of Morton, MS. With these records, there is little doubt as to the connection.
Solomon Joyner Lott wed Margaret Adaline Henry on December 30, 1845 according to Madison Co., MS marriage records. It should be noted that the wedding was conducted by the local Methodist Minister, Elisha Lott, who lived nearby and was, of course, the uncle of Solomon Joyner Lott. His children as found in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census' of Scott Co., MS:
Amelia Jane “Ginny” Lott- bom c.1851 Solomon B. Lott - bom c.1855 Sally Lott - bom c.1858 Margaret Lott - borne. 1859 Harriet Lott- borne. 1862 Susan M. Lott - bom c.1866
B.	Pamelia “Amelia” Lott - bom 1821 according to the 1870 census of Lincoln Co., MS and listed as bom in “Tennessee”. She also shows up in th 1850 census of Leake Co., MS with her husband, James E. Morgan, two children, and her father Arthur Lott, bom 1780 in NC. They wed May 15,1846 according to the Madison Co., MS marriage records. Their children included:
Elija A. Morgan - bom c. 183 7 James W. Morgan - bom c.1839
C.	Ann Susan Lott - bom in Tennessee in 1824 according to the 1870 census of Scott Co., MS with husband John M. Henry. They are also listed in the 1860 census of Rankin Co., MS. Both census' list four children:
Elizabeth “Eliza” Henry - bom c.1850 Mary E. Henry - bom c. 1852 Sarah “Sally” Henry - bom c.1854 Columbus Henry - bomc. 1856
One final note on Arthur Lott. While census records place him and his sister, Celia McArthur, both bom in 1780, it would be impossible to conclude they were twins. As anyone who has ever worked with census records, they can easily be one or more years
