Dear Ms Couch;
It is indeed Christmas at Lobrano House, thanks to your most	generous	gift of	a	photo of the	Marigi house	during its
more	gracious	period	The photo that we	had was	taken after
the house had	fallen into commercial	use	I will	enclose a
copy	from our	Xerox
Did you know that the house was originally the Methodist Church which was moved to this location in 1905 from next door where the present church stands? It was raised and converted into a spacious residence at that time
The dome was atop the Courthouse and was lost in Camille as you surmized The Courthouse was built in 1911 and the auto in the picture is certainly prior to 1920 so I would date the photo between those dates The Chamber of Commerce sign is in the left windows. I will try to find during what dates it was located there. Mr Marigi?s sign is in the right window
The other shoe store that you mention is located at 108 Second Street, (right around the corner, 2nd building) It is currently used as an antique store, tfe depict it on one of our line-drawing note cards I will enclose one if we have any printed at present.
The name Marigi does not appear in the Cedar Rest Cemetery book, nor does it appear in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Phone Book for 1994 Also we do not yet have any Marigi listings in our computers but we are only up to 1895 in our entries. I will inquire into the line after Christmas and let you know. The L. W. Anderson Geneological Library has just relocated to Bay St. Louis and it has excellent sources
Yes, that is the Lobrano house in the photograph. We deeply appreciate your sharing this "lost" photograph with us, I will present your gift to the Society at our next meeting and will post the photo in our paper and inquire for information about it.
Sincere!?
Charles H. Gray President
