SPRING
How beautiful to walk in the garden mead In the early morn after a soft spring rain,
And crocus here, shy blue and white violets there,
Dormant, 'til now, through a long wintersafen [eve).
There are tiny blue daisies scattered thick on the path,
And crocus here, shy blue and white violets there, Protected from the cold days of the winters wrath By the grey mossy stones scattered everywhere.
In the distance a Towhee calls "Towhee, Towhee".
A Robin, red breast showing, rustles leaves near my feet, A cardinal builds a nest for fledglings to be
And I stand entranced with Nature, alive from retreat.
