INTERLUDE, PAST
It is as tho? I never knew you;
A brief interlude of peace and trust.
To have a fantasy of friendship and love Drown in the deluge of the super ego Of one whose only concern is Self.
Tis of no consequence!
No longer is there a song for you,
No more shall I hold you with every breath, Nor kiss you with my every glance,
And think of you warmly when we?re apart. Nor dream of you, when sleep does come. Tis over, and done!
The birds will still sing, but not as sweet; The bells still will ring, but not as clear,
The sun still will shine, but not as bright; My heart will still beat, but not as fast, And the world still will turn, but alas;
No matter, no matter, anon!
