he let's me drive his Cadillac. What more could you want when we go to judges meetings. But he is truly one of the finest judges that I have ever known. He's fair, he is impartial, he shows patience, as Boyce has said, before long-winded, difficult lawyers, and difficult situations that we all would do well to emulate.
And while it's important that a judge be a legal scholar, and Judge Russell certainly is, it also is just as important that he be willing to be a hard worker and to be dedicated to the task at hand. I think I can say without any reservation that Judge Russell reads every single word of every single brief submitted to him and he listens carefully to every single word that long-winded lawyers make before he renders a decision, and that's extremely important in being a good judge.
The most important thing, as I've said though, is my close personal relationship with Judge Russell and sharing stories with him on many, many trips and on many, many calendars that he and I have sat together.
