Let me tell you about this smart juror sitting in the courtroom. My marshal usually sits next to the jury box and I had smoked cigars for about 45 years until I just had to quit. And when I quit I had to chew on them there. I'd cut them off from time to time until they were real small and I'd hold them in my hand. When I'd have a dull case with a jury I'd take one of those like cigars, stub of the cigar on the bench with me there and I'd hold it and chew on it while I was writing with this hand here. And this juror was asking my marshal there, he said, "Is it all right to smoke in here?" "No, no, no.
We don't smoke in the courtroom." "Well the judge is smoking up there." "No. He's not smoking. He's just chewing on the cigar." "No. I think he's smoking." He said, "No, no. He's chewing on that cigar and he's trying to stay awake." He said, "Well he
