Moved, with my parents to the Mississippi coast when 1 1/2 years old.
Education:	B.S.	in Chemistry, Louisiana State University,
1950. Additional courses for my own gratification include Chem Eng. at LSU. Chemistry couses at Tulane, Graduate Counceling program at University of North Carolina/Charlotte, 1982-4, and Computer programming courses at Central Piedmont Community College, 1987-89.
Employment:	March,	1984	to Present:	Retired.
Interest in this local history project began in 1985, and has been pursued sporadically since that time. Concentrated effort has been applied to it only during the past year. In 1985-87, I was self-employed in a craft business.
October, 1973 to March, 1984:
Mineral Research & Development Corp. Harrisburg, NC.
Served at various times as laboratory chemist, Pollution Control Manager, Safety Director, and Personnel Director. Writing skills were used in preparation of Technical and Business reports.
1950 to 1973:	I	was
employed in several technical positions
in the field of chemistry, with chemically related industrial companies. These positions included Marketing Director with the Northrop Corp. in Asheville, North Carolina, where a talent for research work became apparent in my in my market research activities. Other industrial positions were Laboratory Supervisor with Olin Corporation in Ashtabula, Ohio; Laboratory Manager with Nopco Corporation in Linden, New Jersey, and Research Chemist with Allied Chemical Corp. in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana.
