John E. Shoffner, a namesake ol? his grandfather and the s(?cond of the four hoys, is one of the directors in the Peoples? National Bank, of Shelbvville; is also a farmer on an extensive scale, owning a beautiful farm near the Wartrace and Shelbvville Pike; and is a stockholder in the Bedford County Fair Association, lie has large tracts of timber lands in Virginia, where he is now operating several mills. In 18(i(i he married Mary E. Young, and has four sons and two daughters. I rone, who married A. F. Mullins, and Nina are both near Shelbvville. He has the four sons associated with him in his timber interests. Two, Eugene and Omar, are with him under the firm name of the Shoffner Hardwood Company, and located near Coeburn, Va. Eugene is also one of the firm of Shoffner & Ashley, Beech Grove, 'l'enn. Clarence and Clyde, together with their father, form the Shoffner Lumber Company, ITonaker, Ya., with shipping point ? Shoffner,? Va.
Hugh L., the third son of Michael Shoifner, is one of Bedford?s most successful farmers, and is now living on a beautiful farm five miles from Shelbvville, on the Wartrace and Shelbvville Pike. He was one of the prime movers in getting up the Bedford County Fair, and takes a lively interest in all public enterprises. He married Bettie S. Young in 187(i.
