MAJOR ELLIS SYLVESTER
Ellis P. Sylvester is a graduate of St. Stanislaus and Mississippi State College and holds his nraster?s degree from Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee, where he majored1 in administration. Before being called into service, Ellis Sylvester was City Superintendent of Public Schools at Marks, Mississippi and had held a similar position in Pas-' ragoula.
In February 1941, Ellis was called to active duty and was sent to Fort Benning, Georgia, and later transferred to Camp Polk, La., whex?el he was made Adjutant on the general?s staff of the ?Bayou Blitz? Division. Upon his graduation at Mississippi State College, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and| has risen to the rank of major.

CAPT. CLYDE SYLVESTER
Clyde Wheeler Sylvester, is a graduate of Perkinston A. H. S. and Mississippi State College and was the first man in the history of the in-| stitution to graduate in three and one half years and get a commission, j which was granted to him by a special dispensation from the War Department to take advanced miltary training. He was, commissioned a second lieutenant upon his graduation and at the time he was inducted into service, was District Inspec-? tor of all C. C. C. Camps in South Louisiana. Clyde was commissioned captain last June and in August was sent to Jackson Air Base and made ; squadron commander until he left | for duty in the South Pacific in January. Clyde is married to the , former Miss Monie Anderson of Bay St. Louis, and she and her little , daughter, Ann Mary, are residing in j Jackson.
I Both of these men took active part in athletics while in school and college and Bay St. Louis is proud of their military records.
