THE FIRST STEF?Carding wool at City-County Library in Bay St. Louis to prepare the fibers for spinning is Carol Vegas, a member of Dyed in the Wool Weavers. She explains that carding aligns wool fibers for spinning into yarn which is then utilized to weave various items such as the tapestry Vegas crafted which is shown in the background. The Bay St. Louis woman says she raises sheep which provide wool for many group projects. The local organization is exhibiting several woven items at the library this month. The public is invited to view the group members? work. (Staff photo by Wayne Ducomb Jr.)
