ACRYLIC - SCULPTURE
She may not have received formal art training, but her lessons in the hope and humor of life radiate from her canvas. ALICE MOSELEY is truly an original artist.
Said MISS ALICE, "I work in acrylics and sculpture. My work has been classified as idyllic folk art. My subject matter is historical for the most part. Not having had any art lessons gives me a great deal of freedom of expression."
MISS ALICE has had numerous one woman shows throughout the Mid-South. The Parthenon, Nashville, Tennessee, the University of Mississippi in Oxford and Houston, Texas' Folk Art Gallery are among Moseley's hosts for one woman shows.
"Best of Show" awards include the prestigious Cottonlandia Show, Greenwood, Mississippi, Red River Show, Shreveport, Louisiana, Memphis State University, Batesville Art Mart, Batesvilie, Mississippi and most recently received the highest bid for art at the 1991 Toast to the Coast gala.
A retrospective and auction of her latest works was held this spring.
ALICE MOSELEY's work is shown at her home/studio, the Frame Shop and Gallery, Wave land, The Blue Rose, Pass Christian and locally at Simply Southern Limited, Bay Saint Louis.
