I will try to highlight some of our activities dating from 1987 to 2005. We held our yearly flower shows. One in 1990 was dedicated to our local National Guard, which was serving in Iraq in the first Desert Storm war. Shortly after that, the library started the Christmas Tree Gala, and we held out flower shows at its opening night until 2010. We missed one of the years after Katrina, when the library was relocated in a trailer while repairs were made. Since then we have joined with the Diamondhead Garden Club for a joint show. Several of these shows won awards at the state level.
We were members of the Coast Council of Garden Clubs and held yearly pilgrimages, and for some years two days of tours, as NASA and the Mississippi Welcome Center had a special day. In 1997 the Council celebrated 50 years of Pilgrimages at the campus of USM in Long Beach. Our members participated in this. For several years after this a special first day of the Spring Pilgrimage was held. We hosted this in 1999 at the Main Street Methodist Church. We had a flower show in the church and held a series of
