I will try to recount some of our activities in the last 25 years. The date August 29, 3005 changed many things. Our Garden Center building on Leonhard Ave was washed away along with our collection of scrapbooks, yearbooks and other records. Thankfully, some records were out of the building at that time and are still available to us. Our membership was scattered across the country, and it took years for many of us to rebuild in the area. The landscape was devastated and many of our plantings were destroyed. Thanks to the generosity of garden clubs around the country, we have managed to replant using donated plants and finance other plantings .Our Garden Center was recreated at 541 Main Street using grants from the State Department of Archives and History, as it had been on the Registry of Historic Buildings. . The building always belonged to the city of Bay St Louis, but we had control of its use. Now the city controls its use and many other organizations share it. The city has been very generous so we have been able to use it for our meetings and other activities.
