Following the bus, a parade of classic cars will be the next to cross the bridge. Car owners may register to be a part of the event at
mdduffy@cableone.net or by calling Mark at 228-324-6116.
At 4 p.m. the bridge will open to the public for vehicle traffic only. Pedestrians will not be able to cross until further construction is completed around November.
Also at 4 p.m. a festival featuring live music, classic car displays, and booths for local businesses and organizations will be set up along North Beach Blvd. from the bridge to the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club. Booths will feature wares and food.
The event is free and open to the public. The Pat Murphy Band will be part of the featured entertainment for the event.
Hollywood Casino Bay
St. Louis and Coast Transit Authority (CTA) will provide shuttle service from parking available in the Marketown Shopping Center on U.S. Highway 90 at Dunbar Avenue. During the event, North Beach Blvd to Second Street and Second Street at Highway 90 to North Beach will be closed to through-traffic.
Businesses across the Coast are invited to exhibit and sponsor the event. Vendors will showcase area businesses and offer food to participants and the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club will offer beverages for sale.
