Section 2. All standing committees shall be appointed by the Chief, Assistant Chief, and Captain ~f the Company for a period of twelve months. The duties shall oake effect immediately after the appointments are made.
ARTICLE 5:
Duties of the Chief.
Section!. It shall be the duty of the Chief to call regular and special meetings of this organization; to preside at all meetings; to preserve order; to decide all points of order that may arise; subject, however, to an appeal from his decision to the members of the departments, but on such an appeal, a majority vote of all members present shall be necessary to reverse his decision.
Section 2. The Chief shall see that all penalties inflicted by this department are paid.
Section 3, He shall see that every subordinate officer does his duty as outlined in the by-laws and constitution.
Section 4* In case of a tie, the Chief shall give a deciding vote, and shall carry out and enforce the constitution and bylaws of this company to the best of his ability.
Section 5. It shall be the duty of the Chief tc see that all officers and members take and execute all orders given by him. Orders from the Commanding Officer shall be implicitly obeyed by all subordinate officers and firemen. In case of disbbedience to orders a member shall immediately be suspended by the Chief until his case shall be considered:, in oper session of this Company at the following meeting.
Section 6, It shall be the duty of the Chief to be present at all fires, if possible, and to plan and direct the attack but shall not take any personal part in the fight except as stated above.
Section 7. It shall be the duty of the Assistant Chief to perform the duties of the Chief in case of his absence.
Section 8. It shall be the duties of the Assistant Ciiief to assist the Ci'iief in the discharge of his serveral duties.
Section 9. It shall be the duty of the Assistant Chief to call special meetings of the Company at the written request of five members, such request stating the object of the call.
ARTICLE 6:
Duties of the Captain,
Responsibility:
Section 1, The fireman on duty at the fire house at the time the alarm is given of an outbreak of fire to assume the position of Captain.
Section2. It shall be the duty of the Captain to assume entire control of the Company in the abseroe of the Chief and Assistant Chief. All orders given by him on these occasions shall be implicitly obeyed. He shall, however, ? 3 subject to orders from these superior officers when they are on Juty.
Section 3, Upon the arrival of the Company at the scene of the fire, the Captain shall wait at attention at the pumper for orders from his superior officer. If the superior should order the pumper in action, the Captain shall be in charge of the work, seeing the lines are properly connected and laid,, that engineer is at post, and that department immediately around him is functioning properly.
Section 4, When re-charging of the hand chemicals is necessary, the Captain shall see that it is properly done and when the take ? up order is issued, he shall see that the hose is properly racked,
