February 7 issue of paper reported the State of Louisiana had cleared West Pearl River for boats. Captain A. P. Boardman on steamer Mentoria. finest boat on local waters, vas the first to go-upriver.
Newspaper reported on February 21 that Cant. A. P. Boardman arrived at Pearlinston February 16 with 311 bales of cotton, having gone UT3 to Georgetown without accident or difficulty. He went to New Orleans the next day.
The flatboat Brovh arrived February 17 at Gainesville with 283 bales of cotton.
