The Hancock County Historical Society has the privilege of gathering a selection of Hancock County communities, each beginning with a sequential letter of the alphabet as a geographical and historical tool for familiarizing young people with their home county. There will be an insert in each edition of the Historian for the next thirteen issues, each containing two brief histories and descriptions of various communities in alphabetical order. This is being done as an extension of a Mississippi state presentation of items in alphabetical sequence in Jackson offered last summer. Our project is being sponsored through the generosity of Hancock Bank, Merchants Bank and Peoples Bank. Their support of this "community" project is sincerely appreciated.

We also want to thank Ann Onymous for the donation of a new folding table for the office, around which you may sit when you
