I am pleased to have the privilege to invite you to attend a Museums Conference at the Old Capitol Museum Friday, May 21. The meeting is designed to~gIve^3jT^articipants practical^ information about the work of local museums. Topics that will be discussed include:
1.	Established Objectives and Defining Museum Policies
2.	Record Keeping in a Local Museum
3.	Program Suggestions for Local Museums
4.	Developing Support for Museum Programs
5.	Benefits of a Mississippi Association of Museums
John Kerwood, Director of the Montgomery County Historical Society of Dayton, Ohio and a former member of the staff of the American Association for State and Local History, will be a special guest for the Conference. John will share from his experience in developing programs and securing support to promote state and local history.
I believe you would enjoy and receive benefits from attending the meeting, and I am confident your attendance would represent a contribution to the success of this meeting.
The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will	conclude	by	4:00 p.m.	We	will	adjourn
for a dutch treat lunch from 11:30 to 1:00.	We	are	requesting a	registration	fee	of
$5.00 per institution.
