Plaster statues of Sr, Anthony and St. Roch will be noted in the two side aisles
—	both Saints have a considerable following among the people of Bay St. Louis. St. ftoch particularly will indicate our close connection with New Orleans — this great French Saint has teen long honored in that metropolis, It may be mentioned that the population of this parish is basically French and in fact it will be of interest that the records of Births, Marriages and Deaths kept in the Parish from 18U5 up to around 1880 are entirely in French.
These few notes are given in the hope of being of interest and lead to a more genuine appreciation of a noble church, erected over the years in a small community, not rich in the world's goods. It represents the sacrifices of so many through the years, given for the Glory of God and in honor of our Heavenly Patroness, Our Lady of the Gulf.
