1BJ. ARSENETTE "ARSENE" NICAISE 1st married MICHEL LUC de GUERRE
SLC baptism records later cited name Michel Luc de Guerre as MICHEL LUC GUERIT DUTROVILLE, son of Guillaume Luc Guerit Dutroville and Marie Dutro-ville, and from the records, I believe that he died c 1839. The family first appears in the 1850 HANCO census, H/H 23/25 and 24/26 incorrectly named as "MITCHELL" and secondarily as 'lUKE". I can only assume that the census taker misunderstood the French pronunciation of "MICHEL LUC" to be MITCHELL. 1BJ. Arsene, her daughter Irma and her husband James Carver and their children appear in H/H 23/25. The oldest son, Jean (John) Luc de Guerre and the remainder of the children of this family appear in H/H 24/26. Jean (John) was the only son born to this couple. This family was later variously known as Luc de Guerre, Luc, Guerre, Guerry and Guery and the modern name of this family in Hancock County, Mississippi, today, is LUKE.
HANCO Deed records list a Quit Claim Deed from 1BJ. Arsene in certain lands in HANCO to Antoine Tudury and HANCO Deed Bk. E, p. 523, records a Quit Claim Deed of this same parcel to Antoine Tudury, signed by all of the children and heirs of 1BJ. Arsene Nicaise and Michel Luc de Guerre. The land ?>
was located on Goodchildren Street in Shieldsborough (Bay St. Louis). HANCO Deed Bk. A, pps. 301/302 and Chancery Case \\Y1 (1368) has information on the family. HANCO Deed Book A, pps. 330/331, 4/26/1854 states, in part,
"I, Arsene Luc, lately Arsene Sorbet, divorced from Pierre Sorbet..............."
In	the 1850	HANCO census, 1BJ. Arsene Luc de Guerre	is then 44 years	old
and a widow. We	now know that sometime between 1850	and	before 1854,	she	had
remarried and divorced Pierre Sorbet. I have no record of this marriage and I do not believe that they had any children. From Church and civil records, the children of 1BJ. Arsene Nicaise that I can identify were:
1BJ1. IRMA LUC de GUERRE, born 1826 (1850 HANCO census) had her civil marriage	to 1BF6. JAMES CARVER blessed April	23,	1848 (OLG MB	1 p	1
A 8).	In this record she is named as Irma	Luc	Guerry.
1BJ2. JEAN GENTIL "JOHN" LUC de GUERRE, born 1827 (1850 HANCO census) married Dec. 7, 1848 (OLG MB 1 p 2 A 12) 2BC4A. ADELE "ODALIE" LADNER, daughter of 2BC4. Louis Ladner and Caroline "Coralie" Fayard.
1BJ3. ARSENE FRANCOISE LUC de GUERRE was born Dec. 30, 1828, baptised July 15, 1829 daughter of Michel Guerry and Arsene Nicaise (SLC BB 13 p 90 A 392). She and 1HA1. SEVERIN BOURGEOIS, s/o 1HA. Bernard Valentin Bourgeois and Isebelle Favre, with dispensation of 3 consanguinity had their civil marriage blessed, April 23, 1848 (OLG
