written, and I cannot be sure of the numbers. Keep in mind, she was not living in Hancock County when her father died, and were probably not close to Simon's other white children, thus the obvious error in his death date. Since then I have found his true death date. It was recorded in an old French newspaper in New Orleans, LA, called L'AMI DES LOIS, or Friend of the Law, page 2, column 1. The obit was published on July 20, 1813, and said he died on "July 3, 1813, in Mobile, Alabama." See record scanned into the Memories section of his page.

Title: Special thanks
I	would like to thank Mrs. Nell Tate of Picayune, MS for the help she gave me in the 1970s researching this line of Favres. She is the one who sent me a "hand written" copy of the old Favre Bible. She did not have access to a copy machine, so she copied it by hand. I have several letters she sent me in the 1970s that contain additional information if needed.
Title: His death
His date of death is unknown. Many have assigned his death date as November 1, 1839, but this is the death date of his first WIFE. See her obit record scanned into the Memories section of his page.

Carlota Favre (KC3F-CC9) (1805-1813): Notes___________________________________________________________________________
Title: Her birth and death
She was CONFIRMED into the Catholic Church at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans in February 1813 (Confirmation Register, page 151, act 80). In those days the age for Confirmation was from age 7 to age 15. Assuming she was age 8 at the time of her Confirmation in 1813, she would have born in about 1805. It is unknown why she was not included in Simon Favre's Will on May 18, 1812. Perhaps she was in a dying condition and Simon did not wish to leave her any assets that she could not use.
