Christian Ladner and Marie Barbe Brunei's marriage - I will estimate they married "about 1722" based on the approximate age of their first child. They probably married somewhere along the Mississippi Gulf Coast based on the 1725 census of Pascagoula where they were residing.
Christian Ladner's death - Christian appears as the godfather of Christiane Saucier on her baptism record dated April 25,1745, (SLC, Bapt. Bk. 2, page 40, act 3). This is the last record we have on him and will list his death "after" this date. His exact place of death is unknown, but we can assume he died somewhere in or near Pascagoula, MS.
Marie Barbe Brunei - from the baptism record of her first child, we know she was born in "Europe." We assume she died at the same place as her husband died. If Christian Ladner predeceased her, she could have moved in with one of her sons elsewhere on the coast, and died at that location.
Louis Christian Ladner - Who is this person? The first record on him is on the ship register of the "La Marie" that left La Rochelle, France on May 25,1718, for Ship Island off the Harrison County, MS coast. He is listed as "Louis Christianne", native of Paris, and identified as a "Concessionaire." A concessionaire is a person that the government.granted land to in the colony with the requirement that he develop the land along with other duties. This record was taken from "Mississippi Valley Pioneers," by Neil J. Toups,
1971.	Then we find "Luis Christian Ladner," age 100, being Confirmed on Deer Island (off the Mississippi coast), on April 21,1798. The record names his parents as "Christian Ladner and Magdelina Ladner" (St Louis Cathedral, Confirmation Book 1). This record would put his birth in 1698. While he lived among our Ladners, we have found no record of a marriage or children born to him, and there seems to be no connection to our Christian Ladner. Some people claim he was a son of our Christian Ladner or the same person, but looking at the evidence, this is simply not true.
The sources for the above information are scanned into the "Memories Section" of Christian Ladner's page on the web site, FamilySearch.org. We have much more on the descendants of Christian in our files if needed.
