if you're a United States District Judge we'd have a suite somewhere in the hotel, it would be very nice and honored. We had a double room under the railroad track at the Holiday Inn in Washington. And he had one bed and I had the other. And we go down to the capitol. There had been some trouble there with J.P. Coleman's nomination a short time before that, and they were anticipating that. Jim Eastland said, "Come on in, Dan, you and Boyce." He said, "I'm going to get a subcommittee hearing this morning." He said, "Courtney," that was his right hand. He said, "Call over there and tell Big Dirk," Senator Dirksen from Illinois. "Come over here, we're going to have a subcommittee hearing." All right. So we go in. He said, "Come on in." So we go in and sit down and Senator Stennis comes in to introduce the judge. And Jim Eastland and Senator Faun, I think it was, from Hawaii, and Senator Dirksen. So they started in with a few questions, and I'm sitting there, and no trouble -- sign of trouble anywhere. I was just ready in case something sprang up, I
