Asbury Sylvester was on the 1790 Census records of Sumter, South Carolina. He was also witness to a will of Dr. Joseph Howard who died Nov. 25, 1773. Asbury Sylvester, Sumter, S. C. Will dated 1807. (Will Book A, 177?-181 pg. 64) Asbury's birth date is unknown, but it is believed to be 1747.

James Henry Sylvester, bom 1791 died summer of 1839 in Washington County, Alabama, (will recorded in Will book L, p. 77.) He? married Catherine P. Mieeler, bom 1795 in S.C.; died after 1840. She vas the daughter of Henry Wheeler of Sumter, South Carolina.
