1.	Assistant Surgeon J. W. Williams, Medical Department, having reported to the Commanding General, in obedience to paragraph 1, Special Orders No. 85, current series, from the Headquarters of the Army, upon the recommendation of the Medical Director of the Department, is, relieved from duty at Fort Rice and assigned to duty as Chief Medical Officer of the expedition now being organized at Fort Abraham Lincoln for field service, and will procced, without delay, to that post and report to the Commanding officer of the expedition.
2.	Brigadier General Alfred H. Terry, U. S. A., commanding the Department, will proceed to Fort Abraham Lincoln, D. T., there to assume personal command of troops now under orders for the field, lie will be accompanied by Captain Ed. W. Smith, lSth Infantry, A. D. C., Captain R. P. Hughes, 3d Infantry. A. D. C\, 1st Lieutenant E. B. Gibbn, 6th Infantry, A. D. C., and Captain 0. E. MicJtaclis, Ordnance Department, Chief Ordnance Officer of the Department.
Upon the conclusion of the campaign, the officers herein mentioned will return to their station in this city.
The Quartermaster?s Department will furnish the necessary transportation.
