Walter ran his fathers Waccamaw plantation during the ARW. The Swamp Fox, Gen Francis Marion, set up camp there in Sept 1780 during which time Walter supplied provisions. Brothers ran Lockwoods Folly Plantation while their father was at war., Phoebe lived there with him after their marriage. He received grant of 100 acres at White Spring Creek also. When he inherited Lockwoods Folley land he sold Waccamaw holdings in 1798 and 1800. He was a JP of Brunswick Co Court. Sold LFP, 320 acres, in 1806. Shown in Richmond Co Ga as owner of 16 slaves. Bought federal land about 1818 at Cahawba Ala (then in Mississippi) but was defrauded, per legend, by son in law, Joseph Taylor. He moved on to Hancock Co Miss to join sister in law Amelia Potter Russ. Walter died in 1843 in Lydia?s house. His wife died at age 87 in 1852. Sons moved on to East Texas. Judge D.R.
